Lottery (an acrostic poem)

Living day to day, depending on his luck for sustenance

Orbiting his need for money and his need to be creative

The two pulling in opposite directions, their tidal forces ripping him apart

Today was a day where art and hunger went hand in hand as he painted

Every ounce of his imagination was placed on the canvas stroke by stroke

Revealing a mixture of magic and his soul, bound in sweat and paint

Yet it didn’t sell, leaving him destitute and feeling like he lost at life

Mutual attraction brought the two of them together

And once they touched, they were inseparable

Giving those around them uneasy feelings

Not because of their intense connection

Explicitly because they were so opposite of each other

Their friends thought any day now the relationship would explode

It didn’t dawn on them that the couples’ differences were what united them

Causing their two halves to truly be one whole

Go big or go home they always say

It made Stacie feel weird to be looking down at those around her

Admittedly most of her life she had been on the opposite end of that

Needing a stepstool to be eye to eye with their kneecaps

The fact she now stood on a mountain of money, well it made the view that much richer

Panic (an acrostic poem)

Pushing through the masses running the opposite way

Andrea finally found the source of the hysteria

Necromancer and his undead minions were inducing dread

It made her furious and that insulated her from the induced terror

Clutching her glowing baseball bat she yelled, “Batter up!”
