Sometimes you need something sweet.

Connie pointed to the orange cranberry pastry and paid for her splurge.

Once seated she dipped it in her coffee and took a bite.

Nothing prepared her for the explosion of signals from her tastebuds.

Everyone in her family preferred biscuits, but she would always be team…

Stripes of red and yellow paired with polka dots

That were purple and orange

Yelled out loud that she had entered the room

Leaving no doubt in her confident defiance of the norms

Everyone envied Grandma’s audacity

Decide (an acrostic poem)

Determine which pill you are going to take

Engage a chaotic future of tremendous highs and lows by selecting the purple pill

Calm down and have a boring life by selecting the orange pill

It comes down to choice of lifestyle

Don’t ask for a do over, this is a one-time offer world-wide

Everything comes down to this moment.  What do you choose?

Disgusting (an acrostic poem)

Dominic looked at his fouled sneakers

It had started so simply that morning

Snuggling in his warm covers as the sunlight crept into the window

Getting up he put on his running gear and headed out to the trail

Under the red and orange leaves he began to jog

Soon his breath was ragged as he pushed himself harder and farther

That was when he felt that dreaded hard intestinal clenching

It made him stop and look around, but there were people everywhere

Now he tried to walk back, but about half way there he lost the battle

Giving the term “the runs” an added meaning

Rug (an acrostic poem)

Ripping up the broken tiles by breaking them some more, how cool is that?

Underneath the subfloor doesn’t look that bitch’n, soooooo

Gonna lay me down some burnt orange shag.  Make the bathroom groovy again!
