Passion (an acrostic poem)

Putting the focused energy of emotion into the “thing”

And feeling like even if it doesn’t work, well you are still one step closer

Such that you recognize that the wall exists

So you can dig under it, climb over it, blow it up, make a tunnel through

If you don’t have that focus, that wall hurts to run into

Once, twice you will run into it and then wander off because it is too much

Never finding out what is on the other side

Valentine’s Day Special (a 100 word story)

Bob pruned his dying orchid while contemplating Valentine’s Day.  He hated the “holiday” with more passion than he felt about any relationship he had ever been in.  The only redeeming quality was the reduced-price chocolates the next day.  He popped one such morsel in his mouth as he moved to the next morbid plant, one given to him by his ex.  That’s when he had an epiphany!  He knew how to make Valentine’s Day special for everyone.  The following year he made ten thousand dollars selling dead flowers and bouquets to people who wanted that special something… for their ex.

To put her mind through the mental pressure cooker

Researching what her next “next” was going to be

All she wanted to do was to level up now

It was her passion, but she realized it was unrealistic

Now she needed to double down on the work.  It will all pay off later.

Passion (an acrostic poem)

Putting things in perspective wasn’t usually difficult

Although today Ben was having a real problem with it

See he had his eyes on a certain young lady

She had the cutest little smile that made his breath funny

It made his decision so hard to make

Ordinarily, he would eat his lunch by himself

Now he wanted to ask the lunch lady to eat with him
