Plowing and sowing the world of sleep

It was hard work, but he was a farmer to his soul

Little furrows stretched to the horizon containing the roots of fertile dreams and scream-inducing nightmares

Lying there, waiting to be harvested

Once he was ready and picked them, Morbius would pay him handsomely for this crop

Wait till the slumbering humans were served these delectables!

Those pesky trespassers ruined everything

Oh sure, they were trying to “return” his stolen property

Well they could have just left it at the gate and been off, but no, they didn’t want to

Everything might have been fine if his security was worth the payments

Really they might as well have opened the door for the interlopers

See, be nice, give people some jewelry, and that’s how they pay you back!  Medieval!

Cork (an acrostic poem)

Image: images.fineartamerica.com/images-medium-large-5/1-champagne-and-cork-exploding-from-bottle-andy-roberts.jpg

Cutlass sang as it was pulled from its sheath
Ordering everyone to pay attention to what was about to happen
Raising the bottle high, he slammed the blade upward
Kealhauling the glass top away, and with it, it carried the …

Canyon (an acrostic poem)

Claustrophobic tall walls keep closing in the farther he fled

As he rounded a corner, he came to a sheer cliff face announcing it was the end of the road

Now all he could do was turn around and confront his greatest fear

Years had passed since the last time he had faced the gunslinger

On that occasion. he had escaped with only losing his dignity

Now it was time to pay for all those years of running…  A single shot echoed.

Wishing he was right, but knowing he wasn’t

Really, he couldn’t be farther from being correct

Only he was committed now, and backing down was worse, wouldn’t it?

Now it was time to pay the piper, but he had no money

Going to be bad, but the rest of the village had said what could the pied piper do?

Train (an acrostic poem)

Image: hips.hearstapps.com/amv-prod-gp.s3.amazonaws.com/gearpatrol/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Pressure-Cookers-Gear-Patrol-Lead-Full.jpg

To put her mind through the mental pressure cooker

Researching what her next “next” was going to be

All she wanted to do was to level up now

It was her passion, but she realized it was unrealistic

Now she needed to double down on the work.  It will all pay off later.

Shout (an acrostic poem)

Slipping my voice into projection mode

Heaving my words into the void

Ordering the world to pay attention to me

Understanding that I’m just adding to the cacophony

Though it does make me feel better   :>)

Bill (an acrostic poem)

But he didn’t have the money to pay

It made him feel really bad, but he had been so hungry

Leaving the slip on the table with an “I’m sorry” note

Larry couldn’t really enjoy his first meal in three days as he ran away
