Crumbs (an acrostic poem)

Can’t get a seat at the table?

Relegated to looking on, waiting for something to hit the floor?

Under foot and unnoticed?

Maybe this year is when you stand up and demand a seat.

Become a partner with those who should be your peers.

So stop settling for mere…

Found (an acrostic poem)

Floundering in the fog, looking for anything familiar

Overhead the moon peers down, but she can’t see me

Unable to get my bearings I just decide a direction and march

Nearer to a destination, come what may

Determined to discover where I have been hiding

Catching Up (an acrostic poem)

Cat and mouse described Nat’s relationship with her peers

At least that’s how Nat saw it

To be the mouse was tiring, but Nat put up with it

Coming to grips with being a target was built into her persona

Having success from an early age was a mixed blessing

Inspiration to some, a threat to most in this male dominated world

Never really at easy in the power dynamic

Given that women were still looked at as either being subservient or a bitch

Until men would stop pawing her figuratively or physically

Perhaps she would need to become the cat in this relationship
