Those stripes will be yummy with a dash of polka dots

Adding the mismatched pink and green fluorescent socks to further spice it up

So put together a feast for your soul and embrace who you are

There might be people who want to throw up a bit when they see you walk down the street but…

Everyone has a different fashion palate when it comes to style.

Neon (an acrostic poem)

Now the sign glowed with a bright pink light

Exposing the words Bubba’s Emporium in an alluring cursive

Oh how I wanted to see what was inside

Not that I ever got my chance since I was only fourteen at the time

Fence (an acrostic poem)

Fiercely defending her right to her emotional space, she stripped off the pink dress

Everyone was encroaching on her.  In the past, they might have swallowed her whole.

Now she wrapped her fists with barbed wire, feeling it cut into her skin.

Come on world.  It’s me against all of you, and I’m ready to fight dirty.

Everyone better watch out.  Mama bear is ready to defend her territory.

A Touching Gift (a 150 word story)

Marvin dug through his grocery cart.  He knew he had that gift there somewhere.  He finally pulled out the single pink glove.  He handed it to Charlotte.  “Merry Christmas,” he said, his smile highlighting the many lines on his weathered face.

Charlotte took the glove and held it tight. She gave his cheek a brief kiss.   “Thank you,” she said.  She tried to slip it onto her swollen hand, but it barely covered her crooked fingers.  “It’s perfect,” she said, “but I’ve got nothing for you.”

“I’m used to nothing,” said Marvin.  Charlotte looked like she was about to cry.  “But I’ve got a whole lot now that I’ve found you.”

With that he held out his hand and Charlotte grabbed it with her pink gloved one.  They began to dance under the stars to music that only they could hear, trying keep warm in a colder and colder world.
