Corn (an acrostic poem)

Crispy fluffy white popped kernels pour out of the kettle

Obscene amounts of liquid butter soon flow over the alabaster landscape slightly seasoned with salt

Releasing that signature smell in the air that screams movie time

Now for the show that is me consuming of this mountain of magnificence

Couldn’t believe I even had a shot, to be honest

Last thing I thought would happen was that you liked me too

Old feelings of insecurity and inadequacy swamped me when we were apart, but together, that was something amazing

So when I popped the question I was at an emotional breaking point

Fossil (an acrostic poem)

Feeling ancient, well beyond his years

Oliver groaned, stretched, and popped a few vertebrae back in place

So many stairs to climb to get to his bed made him shake his head

So heavy limbs, like they were made of stone

It made him want to just lay down here for all of eternity

Laughing, he thought he now knew how the dinosaurs felt
