Sliding down the road

Looking for traction among the glittering ice

Invoking different deities for divine intervention

Pounding to a stop in a snowbank ends the wild ride

Anchor (an acrostic poem)

Adrift in a sea of high emotions

No sunrise on the horizon to be found

Caution blew away with the high winds hours ago

Hearing the waves pounding on the rocks

Only thing he could safely do was ground himself against the current

Releasing the weight, he felt it plunge deep and hold, but for how long

Pickled (an acrostic poem)

Pounding back another tequila

It made his eyes cross

Curt looked around the bar

Keen to find someone to connect to

Lurching to unsteady feet, he stumbled towards her

Everything screamed to him that she was the one

Didn’t make it three steps before he found out the floor wanted him more

Punch (an acrostic poem)

Pounding back the sugary alcohol

Until my eyes cross from both drugs hitting my system

Now he gets into my space and spits in my face

Could barely stand I was so bad off, but I could only take so much

Hitting him in the mouth put him in the same state as I as we both fell down
