Salty (an acrostic poem)

Swearing up a blue streak was her pressure relief mechanism

And she needed all the relief she could get tonight

Little did she know her ex was going to be there with his super-model girlfriend

That’s when she knew she had to do something to assert dominance

Yet loosening the tops to the seasoning shakers were probably not the route to go

Train (an acrostic poem)

To put her mind through the mental pressure cooker

Researching what her next “next” was going to be

All she wanted to do was to level up now

It was her passion, but she realized it was unrealistic

Now she needed to double down on the work.  It will all pay off later.

Gravity (an acrostic poem)

Given how much it meant to her, this failure left her soul feeling heavy

Reason told her this time wasn’t any different then the million times before

And she knew she should let go of that emotional weight

Vanity wouldn’t let that happen, though

It kept her rooted firmly on the ground

That pressure to beat Sisyphus by pushing up her metaphorical boulder

Yielded the same result.  She never left her personal black hole

Release (an acrostic poem)

Racing towards a climax

Everything slows down

Losing oneself in the moment

Every sensation is amplified

And the pressure continues to build

So when you plunge over the edge

Everything feels of so right

Tough (an acrostic poem)

Things are going to get worse before getting better

Or at least that’s what it looks like right now

Under such pressures, lesser people might crack

Going to take a rugged person to stand back up

Here’s to the people ready to pull up our sleeves and rebuild

Pressure (an acrostic poem)

Pushing past the limits of her endurance

Rita kept ratcheting up the tension in her muscles

Everything was on the line this time

Success and she was set for life

Slip up and she would be homeless and broken

Urging her body to give her just a little more

Rita growled as she felt her opponent quiver

Everything after that happened so fast she didn’t know how to react

Gravity (an acrostic poem)

Giving the topic the weight it deserved

Rob thought about how heavy this discussion was going to be

Acerbity left his mouth fowled

Veiled threats forced themselves into his thoughts

It put pressure on what he was about to do

To think his dignity was about be sucked into a black hole

Yet he still made the airplane noises to get John to eat is peas

Pressure (an acrostic poem)

Pushing on through the pain was Geoff’s forte

Running through the low bushes scrapped his legs raw

Every breath was labored, oxygen a rare commodity

Sounds of pursuit began to grow

Sending Geoff into more of a panic

Urging more speed from his spent limbs, he tumbled to the ground

Realizing fleeing was no longer an option, Geoff stood up, picking up a branch

Even a lump of coal could become a diamond.  Time to see what he was made of
