Finding courage to do the almost impossible mean he had to reach real deep.

Reach into depths he wasn’t sure he had.

And yet, here he was looking straight into the face of this next hurdle.

If he could just take a step forward here, his life would change forever for the good, but could he?

Looking at the parallel bars, he hoisted himself back up on them and tried to get his legs to walk.

Soar (an acrostic poem)

She flew through his mind causing his thoughts to race after her

Over and over she escaped his grasp, swooping just out of reach

All he could do was keep trying, but in the end, he gave up and watched

Realizing she was forever not obtainable, but forever in his thoughts, she would…

Mess (an acrostic poem)

Making things usually left his desk a little cluttered, and he loved to make stuff

Everything started within reach, but by the end, some of creative debris was in the other room

Someday he would learn to put everything back in its place when he was done with it

Still, he thought of his whole experience in terms of his need to be creative, not that the output was a chaotic…

Vessel (an acrostic poem)

Untitled_Artwork
Image by my 14 year old daughter

Vehicle for fluids is raised for another toast

Enables waking dreams as you stumble being possessed

Sometimes you can host a multitude of different spirits simultaneously

Such as wine, beer, and hard liquors

Enough visitors that you reach your max occupancy limit, and you’re forced outside your body

Leaving you empty and full of yourself at the same time

Reign (an acrostic poem)

Reach for the crown and rip it off the previous owner’s decapitated head

Embrace the fact that it is your time to be the one

It can’t be hard as evidenced by the person you just dethroned

Go on.  Impose your will upon those below you that don’t know any better

Nothing can possibly go wrong now…

Achieve (an acrostic poem)

Image: premiumjoy.com/wp-content/uploads/kids-puzzle-pieces-closeup-view.jpg

Accept with grace that sometimes you will fail

Cherish those moments, no matter how hard they are

Here is where you learn the most

It is akin to putting a puzzle together

Everything was once one picture before being forced to shatter

Vividly the picture can be reconstructed, but the outlines of what happen will always be there

Embrace that change and then reach for the next level

Wisp (an acrostic poem)

Winding through the dark recesses of my mind

I follow the glimmer of an idea as it floats just out of reach

So I shouldn’t have been surprised when I fell into a mental swamp

Pushing me under the murky surface to drown in the fetid cerebral sludge

Leap (an acrostic poem)

Leave the ground with gusto and take to the air

Eclipse the sun for those still stuck on the ground

Ascend to heights you never guessed you could reach

Peak and resist coming back down
