Relaxing against the wall, he watched his classmates convulse on the dance floor

Everything that night had been disastrous.  First, his date ditched him

And she decided to slow dance with the person who used to be his best friend

Drinking his punch, he wondered what could possibly happen next, but then he laughed

Yes, he knew what was going to happen next.  His master plan was working perfectly.

Tiger (an acrostic poem)

There was that time when he was out prowling around

Impeccable coat, stripes so sharp they would slice through rival suitors

Giving the ladies a view of what an alpha male looked like

Everything changed when he met her.  She stopped that predator dead in his tracks

Relaxing on her new pelt rug, she looked into his eyes.  What a pussycat!

Rest (an acrostic poem)

Relaxing with her beer, she smiled at her day

Everything had gone wrong with the day

Still, her family was healthy, and they all had food in their tummies

That, and a good night’s sleep, was all they needed to make tomorrow better

Crisp (an acrostic poem)

Cold water vapor condensed in front of Jeremy with every breath

Running in between the snowflakes was usually relaxing

Instead it further fed the fears Jeremy was fleeing from

Soon he would have to return home to his wife of twelve years

Perhaps he would recognize her this time
