Composing art through words and images

Inspiring imagination and thought through deep story telling

Nobody is falling asleep in the dark, too much emotion and adrenaline

Everyone is mesmerized by what is happening on the big screen

Many will watch it again at home, but that collective theater experience is special

Allowing for a brief moment a community zeitgeist that can be transformative

Dazed and confused

I sit here in front of my screen

Zoom to teach my classes

Zoom to meet with colleagues

Yet at times it seems pretty slow

Choice (an acrostic poem)

Can’t decide which one to buy

He sat there and stared at his screen

Ordinarily, this would be an easy decision

It was made infinitely more complicated because nothing was in stock

Couldn’t get what everyone recommended

Eventually, he gave up and went to bed.

Actor (an acrostic poem)

All she ever let them see was her screen face

Cold, aloof, mysteriously beautiful

The fact is she was scared, scarred, and so plain was something to hide

Oh there were times she thought about letting go of the persona and just be

Reality was she was too committed to her craft to let her audience down

Block (an acrostic poem)

Barb looked at the empty white screen in front of her

Little cursor blinking, mocking her inability

Of course earlier in the day she had pages and pages of story

Couldn’t remember a single sentence now

Killing her motivation completely

Crash (an acrostic poem)

Clicking the mouse as fast as she could

Rachel laughed as she blew up three of her competitors

All she needed to do now was make her sprint to home base

Suddenly frames started dropping almost as fast as her f bombs

Her screams echoed as the screen went black
