Holding onto her with both hands, not wanting to ever let her go

And yet there she was, spinning away from me, somehow slipping from my grasp

Now I tried to catch her, I tried so hard

Didn’t stand a chance, though

Life slowed down as she fell to the pavement and shattered

Snail (an acrostic poem)

Slipping along my day ever so slowly but

Never leaving home.  It leaves me a bit stir crazy

As if the weight of my world rides around on my shoulders

If I could just find a way to leave it all behind

Looking at that a second time, leaving it all would just leave me sluggish

Shout (an acrostic poem)

Slipping my voice into projection mode

Heaving my words into the void

Ordering the world to pay attention to me

Understanding that I’m just adding to the cacophony

Though it does make me feel better   :>)

King (an acrostic poem)

Knowing how to rule with a light touch

Isaac was a benevolent ruler until he tried to reach too far

Now he was holding on for dear life as his realm slipped through his fingers

Giving up the crown was easy after they chopped off his hands

Splash (an acrostic poem)

Slipping under the waves

Pushing her to the bottom

Lisa felt like she found something special

A new world opened up in front of her

Swimming with the sharks she felt no fear

Her smile revealed her sharpened teeth
