Maybe it was too late in the day to do such things, but she tried to solve his riddle

Under the glow of a full moon, she contemplated what he had said and how he had said it

So many possibilities rattled around her cranium, demanding she fit the moving pieces together

Her head started to pound as she felt the pieces fly away, her ability to comprehend slowly devolving to…

His heart was shattered into shards that stabbed his soul and made it bleed

Every day he tried to put one or two more pieces back together as best he could

And some days his heart broke more than he fixed it, yet overall

Living slowly got better, forever different, but better

Scurrying thoughts running crazy inside his head

Put him on his mental treadmill, trying to exercise them away

Reaching an exhaustion level that would allow him to fall unconscious

Snail (an acrostic poem)

Slipping along my day ever so slowly but

Never leaving home.  It leaves me a bit stir crazy

As if the weight of my world rides around on my shoulders

If I could just find a way to leave it all behind

Looking at that a second time, leaving it all would just leave me sluggish
