Smooth (an acrostic poem)

Sometimes she didn’t know they were recording the conversation

Might have been a problem for a lot of people, but not for her

Others would hem and haw and stutter, but she was concise and clear

Others would say things they didn’t mean or didn’t want others to hear, she was honest and

That’s why she was happy the whole thing went to court

Here they would what she said in her own voice, and that voice said, “No.”

Shine (an acrostic poem)

So smooth.  The clear liquid hardly burned.

He knew this batch would sell well

It just meant dodging the Feds till he dropped off this batch

Not that he hadn’t done hundreds of times

Eventually, his luck would run out, but hopefully not before the still did

Torqued (an acrostic poem)

Twisted thoughts tumbled from his lips

Outwardly he kept his face smooth and composed

Really on the inside, he was spinning in tight circles

Quitting the torrent of lies, he took a deep breath

Unsure his verbal torrent had convinced her of anything

Eventually, he decided to throw in the truth to see what that would do

Definitely hadn’t expected the truth to have such an impact
