On camera, the room looked round.

Viewed from the inside, however, that was definitely not the case.

And why did they decide to make a space, especially such an important one, that way?

Look, they were still British in their own special way, so why not.

Crave (an acrostic poem)

Image: cravel5p.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/crave-logo-insta.png

Can’t get enough of you, ever

Reaching for you as often as I can

And never wanting to let you go

Very appreciative of every moment we get to spend together

Everyone needs to find that something special, l have chocolate

Valentine’s Day Special (a 100 word story)

Bob pruned his dying orchid while contemplating Valentine’s Day.  He hated the “holiday” with more passion than he felt about any relationship he had ever been in.  The only redeeming quality was the reduced-price chocolates the next day.  He popped one such morsel in his mouth as he moved to the next morbid plant, one given to him by his ex.  That’s when he had an epiphany!  He knew how to make Valentine’s Day special for everyone.  The following year he made ten thousand dollars selling dead flowers and bouquets to people who wanted that special something… for their ex.

Cinema (an acrostic poem)

Composing art through words and images

Inspiring imagination and thought through deep story telling

Nobody is falling asleep in the dark, too much emotion and adrenaline

Everyone is mesmerized by what is happening on the big screen

Many will watch it again at home, but that collective theater experience is special

Allowing for a brief moment a community zeitgeist that can be transformative

Sparkle (an acrostic poem)

Image: img1.thelist.com/img/uploads/2017/07/too-much-makeup.jpg

She wanted to feel special

Puckering up she put on her bright red lipstick

And her dazzling blue eyeliner

Reaching for her glittery teal eye shadow, she applied it liberally

Knowing it was almost time for her date, she began to get excited…

Liam smiled when he saw his twelve-year-old daughter make her entrance

Everything she did shouted how important she was to him.  Their dinner together was going to be special.

Drop (an acrostic poem)

Didn’t think the fall would be that bad

Rolling to a stop that hard

Or finding pieces of yourself scattered across the pavement

Perhaps that’s why it takes something special to be a rain…

Find (an acrostic poem)

For once they were lost

It was made worse when both their phones died

Now all they had were their tent, some supplies, and each other

Don’t you know they discovered something special.  Then the bear ate them.

Useless (an acrostic poem)

Until her twenty-third birthday, Abagail thought she was special

She would walk around like the queen she knew she had to be

Everything changed when she met Chuck

Love left her vulnerable, lowered her confidence

Esteem shrunk under Chuck’s manipulative eye

Soon she was relegated to being just his wife and not his partner

She told herself it was for the best.  Otherwise, she would be ….

Enough (an acrostic poem)

Evening faded into the background as he turned up the noise

Nothing special, just something to keep the world from invading

Outside he looked like he was just chilling out

Underneath he was boiling with emotions

Going to blow any minute like one of those geysers

He just couldn’t take it anymore.  Soon the water escaped, but one drop at a time.

Splash (an acrostic poem)

Slipping under the waves

Pushing her to the bottom

Lisa felt like she found something special

A new world opened up in front of her

Swimming with the sharks she felt no fear

Her smile revealed her sharpened teeth
