Fan (an acrostic poem)

Image: i.ytimg.com/vi/_D6Zi9OlUVM/maxresdefault.jpg

Forcing air to get its behind moving in front of the spinning tines

As the blades cut up the parts that lollygagged behind

Nothing will ever be the same ever again

Bonus poem:

Focused obsessively on the one-way relationship she had with Him

Always finding out of the way moments to try to finally be with Him

Now that restraining order will be a problem, but it won’t stop her love of Him

Goose (an acrostic poem)

Image: httmydogtag.com/images/sampletags/topgun.jpg

Getting aggressive during play fighting

Oblivious to the dangers at hand

Outside the air was turbulent with drama

Such that the only thing you could do to get out of the spinning rut was eject from the situation.

Except that damn glass ceiling got in the way, killing any hope of promotion

Chance (an acrostic poem)

Converting luck into action

He tossed the spinning dice from his hand

And as they flew through the air, probabilities spun with them

Not collapsing the distribution curve until done with their dance

Cascading all possibilities into a single outcome

Everything random transforms into fate

Spiral (an acrostic poem)

Image: i.ytimg.com/vi/_5iLt1p-W1U/maxresdefault.jpg

Spinning around and around in tighter and tighter circles

Putting my equilibrium into the fetal position

I try to stop, but the world is now spinning up as I slow down

Reaching for the floor, I miss

And fall into some space that I didn’t know existed

Living now the pinwheel life

The Digital Downfall (a 200 word story)

Image: securesense.ca/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/virus-image.jpg

We didn’t even know we were being conquered.

How about that for humanity’s divine right?

First shoe to drop was when Amazon just went dark.  Like not even a 404-error dark.  A spinning wheel of painful waiting torture was the only eulogy for what was king the day before.

Facebook and Twitter were soon only posting stories about end of the world scenarios.  Left wing, right wing, any crackpot scenario of the end of the world was jamming everyone’s feeds.  Reddit was the same, no matter the voting of the members.  Hell, 4chan was even doing it.  Like what the hell, 4chan?

The aliens took over so smoothly that by the time we realized what was happening the only thing we could do was to surrender.  Any attempt at pulling the plug and they would go all Terminator on us.  We expected the AIs we would be fighting would be the ones we created, but we were naive.  The alien AIs controlled every digital system on the planet.  The best part was we were all home waiting for COVID-19 to be cured, but the virus that killed off the autonomy of the human race was digital.  No mask for that.

Dice (an acrostic poem)

Down to my last chance, I offer a prayer to the lukewarm plastic cubes

I then release them to bound across the table, watching them unleash their chaos

Cartwheeling and spinning among all the possibilities and futures

Eventually coming to rest as tombstones on my luck’s grave

Flip (an acrostic poem)

Feeling like a coin spinning through the air

Listing endlessly from heads to tails and back again

It makes for an uncomfortable situation and fills those around you with apprehension.

Perhaps instead of chocolate or vanilla soft serve,  you might settle on your edge, twist!

Wheel (an acrostic poem)

Well, she felt like she was just spinning in place

Her mind dizzy with the constant whirling of thoughts

Emanating from a Tasmanian Devil like cyclone

Every time she thought she had figured it out, doubt would roll over her again

Leaving her coasting along on thin tread

Torqued (an acrostic poem)

Twisted thoughts tumbled from his lips

Outwardly he kept his face smooth and composed

Really on the inside, he was spinning in tight circles

Quitting the torrent of lies, he took a deep breath

Unsure his verbal torrent had convinced her of anything

Eventually, he decided to throw in the truth to see what that would do

Definitely hadn’t expected the truth to have such an impact

Fortune (an acrostic poem)

Feeling lucky I placed everything on double zero

Oblivious to the gasps at the table, I sat back contented

Reaching for the roulette wheel, the croupier set it spinning

The ball was sent orbiting in the opposite direction

Under my breath I started to pray

Needless to say I cursed when it landed on red 32

Everyone felt sorry for me, but I didn’t care.  I had stolen that money
