Finding courage to do the almost impossible mean he had to reach real deep.
Reach into depths he wasn’t sure he had.
And yet, here he was looking straight into the face of this next hurdle.
If he could just take a step forward here, his life would change forever for the good, but could he?
Looking at the parallel bars, he hoisted himself back up on them and tried to get his legs to walk.
Giving money away like it was going out of style
Reaching deep into their wallet to make everything happen
And boy did they. They were a walking talking party
From sunup till way past sundown, sometimes for twenty-four hours straight
Then one day their aunt realized where her money was going, and he suddenly had none.
Connecting the dots ways always the easy part
Hard part was then making the dominoes fall in order
As so many factors had to be juggled for the Rube Goldberg plan to work
It was almost something straight from a summer blockbuster
Not that he had to worry about. The first link broke leaving him dreaming of what might have been
“So let me get this straight. I need to stay with you”
“That’s an understatement. You need to get even closer than you are now.”
“Until when exactly?”
“Could be a real long time. Depends on life. I can promise it won’t be boring, though”
“Knowing you, I’m not surprised. Okay, Reverend, I do.”
“So cool that you know how to play the guitar.”
“Kind of you to say, but I’m the drummer, remember?”
“I know. That’s why we supposedly brought you into the band.”
“Let me get this straight., were you being sarcastic?”
“Lots of love, dude, but call us back when you can count to four.”
Charging down the finishing straight
