Fog (an acrostic poem)

Formless gray extended in all directions

Obsficating everything, and making it all seem alien

Going back to the previous room, she tried to remember why she had gone there. Got to love brain…

Smoke (an acrostic poem)

So many wires going here and there

More than what is needed right now, but you want to be ready for the future

Oh I know it can get confusing, but that’s okay

Keep track of everything right up here in my big old brain

Except I forgot and now the smoke alarm is going off. Damn!

*a semi-fictitious tale. There was no smoke in my case. lol

Salty (an acrostic poem)

Swearing up a blue streak was her pressure relief mechanism

And she needed all the relief she could get tonight

Little did she know her ex was going to be there with his super-model girlfriend

That’s when she knew she had to do something to assert dominance

Yet loosening the tops to the seasoning shakers were probably not the route to go

Wisp (an acrostic poem)

Watching the spirits dance in the moonlight while nursing her new bruises

It made her want to run out there and join them.

She knew she shouldn’t.  She knew what would happen.  She would never come back.

Pushing off her back step she decided it was better than the alternative.

Betrayed (an acrostic poem)

Been promised that everything would be fine

Except that was never going to be true

That shouldn’t have surprised her

Rachel had grown up on the wrong side of the tracks

And no one there was ever able to keep their word, even if they tried

Yet this one hurt more than all the rest put together

Everett said he would always be there to hold her, to help make things right

Death had conveniently gotten him out of that, the bastard.  She spit on his grave.

Brave (an acrostic poem)

Image: exploringyourmind.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/50-tips-to-be-brave.png

Be there for each other

Remember, you will someday not be here

And what you do and who you help will be all you leave

Verify that legacy is the one you want to represent you

Even if some say you’re weak, show them that weakness can be strength.  Be…

Tempt (an acrostic poem)

Image: i1.wp.com/www.bitesoutoflife.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/171209_dark-chocolate-truffles-5.jpg

There was the dark chocolate truffle right there

Egging him on to consume and enjoy the ephemeral experience

Mustering his willpower, he pushed the candy away

Putting him in touch with its shiny ebony brown exterior, but he got up and walked off

The fact that he licked his fingers as he left was totally not a cave
