Glitter (an acrostic poem)

Giving those diabolical miniature flakes of metal in their prison

Little shakes with an evil grin on my face

If you hadn’t had crossed the line it wouldn’t have come to this

The trap set, I just sit back with the airhorn and count down

Eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one.  The horn screams through the night

Resulting in you throwing off your covers, releasing the pile of sparkle into your entire everything.

Go For It (an acrostic poem)

Green traffic light cuts the darkness

Opening the way for me

Feeling the pavement pass under my wheels

Outside becomes surreal

Racing through this new reality

Itching to shift it into the next gear

Throwing caution to the wind, I do it

Gave Up (an acrostic poem)

Granted Felix would have admitted to throwing in the towel

It still grated that Linda was the one accusing him of it

Very likely she would hold it over him the rest of his life

Every day reminding him of that failing

Under his breath, he relented and said, “I do.”

Perhaps marrying Linda wouldn’t be so bad
