Debris swirled in the breeze caused by the opening door

Uncovering a notebook long forgotten, if the amount of dirt inside the chamber.

She bent down to grab it, to unlock its secrets

The moment she touched it she turned to…

Chef (an acrostic poem)

Cooking the lights out every night was her goal in life

Harvesting awesome flavors from every ingredient she touched

Extreme foodies would travel from halfway around the world to sample her dishes

Focusing on that dream, the six-year-old watched her mom boil water

Magnetic (an acrostic poem)

Mutual attraction brought the two of them together

And once they touched, they were inseparable

Giving those around them uneasy feelings

Not because of their intense connection

Explicitly because they were so opposite of each other

Their friends thought any day now the relationship would explode

It didn’t dawn on them that the couples’ differences were what united them

Causing their two halves to truly be one whole

Gifts (an acrostic poem)

Giving all of you so many thanks

It is awesome when you come and look at my poetry

Finding out that I have touched you with my words

That is something I love to unwrap, not just at Christmas, but every day

So once again, thank you!

Pass (an acrostic poem)

Persevering when times get tough is necessary to succeed.

And everyone knows, doing the same thing and expecting different results is insanity.

So, does that mean to be successful you need to be more than a bit touched?

See, it’s leaps in logic like that that show how I almost failed philosophy class.

Touched (an acrostic poem)

Taking a chance, Mary sneaked close to Clyde

Oblivious to her hovering, Clyde continued to play his video game

Unable to resist, May moved even closer, invading his personal space

Clyde acknowledged her existence with a grunt

His eyes went wide though as he met his electronic demise

Eyes met, and Mary realized she had crossed a line

Drawing up to her full height, Mary walked away.  Clyde smiled and followed
