Curls (an acrostic poem)

Cutting her hair, at one time, would make her cry. It was such a horrible experience

Utter fear would grip her upon sitting in the chair knowing she was at the mercy of the hairdresser

Red hair ringlets defined the core of who she was and were her pride and joy, so she was so particular

Letting the electric razor zoom across her scalp, she smiled.

Suck it, cancer! She would grow back stronger.

Heist (an acrostic poem)

How many souls could she steal before the moon reached full?

Each one a jewel in her crown as a master thief

It was why she found herself in this pub drinking a warm beer

So many people here she could work her trade upon

The only problem they all had already had their souls stolen by their job, sport, or vice

Lost (an acrostic poem)

Looking for a way out of this intellectual maze

Oblivious to all the obstacles I have never thought of before this very moment

Stumbling along the bones of those ideas that died trying previous attempts to flee

The search continued, but upon reflection, I was always hopelessly …

Starlight (an acrostic poem)

Stars send speeding photons flying through the nothingness

To land blissfully on my eyes as I look heavenward

Awestruck at the age of the light that graced me

Realizing a small chunk of ancient history

Looking at a place that might not exist anymore

It causes me to pause, wondering what I am casting into the void around me

Giving life to something that will outlast my stay in this universe

Hoping that someone will gaze upon that something and be inspired

To create their own light and cast it into the unknown
