Wide (an acrostic poem)

Why have such a narrow view of life

It may be natural to focus on oneself

Don’t limit yourself in that way.

Expand to asking what others are experiencing.  You might be surprised at what gifts you discover.

Snow (an acrostic poem)

So much of the white stuff littered the ground that

No trace of anything else was in view

Obscuring the need to go anywhere else

While consuming hours moving it from one place to another

Tiger (an acrostic poem)

There was that time when he was out prowling around

Impeccable coat, stripes so sharp they would slice through rival suitors

Giving the ladies a view of what an alpha male looked like

Everything changed when he met her.  She stopped that predator dead in his tracks

Relaxing on her new pelt rug, she looked into his eyes.  What a pussycat!

Plastic (an acrostic poem)

Pliable emotions allowed them to bend and not break

Letting the couple withstand so many of life’s issues

And it also let their souls meld into a perfect fit with each other

So it was no surprise to those around that as their features morphed by time’s hands

That it didn’t make a difference to the beauty they saw in each other

It was inspirational to view, to feel

Can something like that be recycled for the betterment of society?

Rocket (an acrostic poem)

Racing up through the atmosphere

On a giant plume of flame

Carrying a massive amount of explosive materials

Knowing a single spark in the wrong place could be disastrous

Ending everything in the blink of an eye

That view though, once the blue sky faded, always made it worth it

Valley (an acrostic poem)

Vast hills of overwhelming emotions rim his psyche

All casting shadows in the depths where he lays at rest

Looking at the prospect of climbing out

Leaves him feeling exhausted before he even begins

Every step a struggle, the climb pure torture

Yet once high up in the surrounding hilltops the view of tomorrow is amazing

View (an acrostic poem)

Vistas expanded inside her mind

It took her breath away with the possibilities

Everything was there ready for her to take it.  She could see it all

Which is why it was so sad when she walked away.
