Growing rows of amber waved in the hot wind

Reaching for one of the sheathes, she pulled the kernels free

And rubbed them against each other in her hands, freeing the seeds from their husks

It released a wonderful smell of summer turning toward fall

Nodding she walked back to the farmhouse.  Tomorrow they would harvest.

Trip (an acrostic poem)

The idea of traveling to Athens, London, and Paris was his ultimate dream
Reality was more of nightmare since he couldn’t afford gas to get across town
It was this that consumed his thoughts as he walked to his minimum wage job
Punishing himself for his lack of mobility, he didn’t see the curb in time, and soon he finally went for a …

There was the dark chocolate truffle right there

Egging him on to consume and enjoy the ephemeral experience

Mustering his willpower, he pushed the candy away

Putting him in touch with its shiny ebony brown exterior, but he got up and walked off

View (an acrostic poem)

Vistas expanded inside her mind

It took her breath away with the possibilities

Everything was there ready for her to take it.  She could see it all

Which is why it was so sad when she walked away.

Testify (an acrostic poem)

There once was a time where I was lost and clueless

Even thought about just giving up completely

Seriously, it was that bad

Then you walked into my life

It completely changed everything

Forced me to become a far better man because of it

Yet throughout this whole ordeal my hatred of you has never wavered
