Begin by picking up your fruit

As you handle it, feel its heft

Notice its shape and girth

And think about how good it will be

Now, are you ready for what comes next?

All you do is buy it and eat it.  Wait, what did you think I was going to say?

Veil (an acrostic poem)

Viewing life through a gauzy sheet of emotions

Everything was fuzzy and slightly off color

It made things less scary and more comfy

Living that way also meant never really knowing what was real

Cork (an acrostic poem)

Cutlass sang as it was pulled from its sheath
Ordering everyone to pay attention to what was about to happen
Raising the bottle high, he slammed the blade upward
Kealhauling the glass top away, and with it, it carried the …

Now you can’t drop anything out once you slip your wiener in,” he said.

Know what?  This date is over,” she replied as she stomped off.

She left him holding his meatless bun.

Focusing on the food was what gave him pleasure

Every morsel perfectly prepared and consummately seasoned

At the moment he could think of nothing better existing in the universe

So why was his stomach still an echo chamber of empty rumbles?

The fact the meal in question was just an old magazine spread and he had no money

Brave (an acrostic poem)

Image: exploringyourmind.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/50-tips-to-be-brave.png

Be there for each other

Remember, you will someday not be here

And what you do and who you help will be all you leave

Verify that legacy is the one you want to represent you

Even if some say you’re weak, show them that weakness can be strength.  Be…

He thought he knew exactly what to do

Until he found out the hardware wouldn’t work

Being too smart for his own good he whipped up something new

Realizing that was a wasted four hours because he had just simply wired the original backwards

So much for a calm Sunday
