Rust (an acrostic poem)

Ravages of time and oxidation scarred the urban landscape

Under that dilapidation lies the proud and the mighty

So many, now one with the dust below the decay above

The wind blows red.ย  The bleeding continues.

Restart (an acrostic poem)

Rust crumbled from the โ€™57 Chevy

Eroding the metal shell

Slowly stealing away the carโ€™s soul

Transforming into reddish-brown dust

Alex scooped up some of the oxidized metal

Rubbing her hands on her leather apron she headed to the forge

The idea of melting it down and recasting it seemed fitting
