Littering trees cluttered the landscape with their refuse.

Every square inch of open ground was cluttered in orange, red, and yellow debris

And as I walk among the naked branches overhead, I wonder who’s going to pick all this up.

Foolish thoughts as I pull out my rake and curse my need for shade in the summer.

Abyss-black hair cascaded in waves down her back contrasted with her alabaster skin.

Luscious blood red lips pulled into a tight pout.

Lavish eyebrows that outline perfect ice-blue eyes.

Undulating curves in all the right places ensconced in a second skin of green satin.

Resulting in a woman who was the epitome of perfection.

Except she was only a picture on a magazine cover.

Going to strain carrying the emotional weight of the moment

Release is not an option, at least not yet.

It is the necessary work that must be done

Even if it leaves you crippled for the rest of your life

For without completing the arduous task, there is no finding catharsis
